Weedman Family Newsletter Archive

This is a test to determine if we can convert all issues of the Weedman Newsletter to Adobe Acrobat format, embed an index in each volume to allow interested parties to search each for topics of specific interest. (Note: initial tests reveal that the indexing has not succeeded. We are able to copy the files to a CD where the index works well. We will continue to experiment until we have success!)

We will start with Volumes 25 through 32 which covers the years 1992 through 1999. Subsequent years are available on the regular Newsletter page. If the embedded index to facilitate searching is successful, the issues from 2000 forward will be indexed and probably added to this page.

In order to use this feature, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader which is a free program and can be downloaded and stored on your computer by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page. You will need to download the year of interest into Adobe Acrobat and use the search facility which is an integral part of that program. The word or term you are seeking will be highlighted and you can easily move from one hit to another.

Each year's file is large and varies from 1 megabyte to 3 megabytes. For someone on cable modem, this should not present a problem. For dial-up connections, the size may be a problem but we won't know until it is tried.

Again, over the next couple of months, we will have all issues that we have converted and presented on this page.

Feedback is highly appreciated. We will attempt to determine if we can create a master index that would cover all volumes. Adobe Acrobat has a feature called Catalog but our understanding is someone would have to download the whole set of Newsletters to use this feature and that could be a problem. If there is sufficient interest, we could created a CD that has all issues on it along with the Catalog. Let us know if there is interest.

Progress to date: Volumes 19 through 41 have been converted to Adobe Acrobat files and will be uploaded in July. Conversion of Volumes 1 through 18 are underway.
